Haaaaaeeeeayyyyy! It’s Fran Fine, the sassy, brassy, “Touch of Class”-y Jewish American Princess from Queens, now working Uptown for Broadway producer, Maxwell Sheffield, played by Charles Shaughnessy. It’s a match made in mayhem…and eventually, after many teasers, marriage, too. Lauren Lane is Maxwell’s uptight business partner, C.C. Babcock, the frequent target of snappy put-downs by Niles, the droll butler played by Daniel Davis. Look for a parade of special guests including Elizabeth Taylor, Estelle Getty, Eartha Kitt, Rita Moreno, Burt Bacharach, Hugh Grant, Rita Rudner, Steve Lawrence, Jayne Meadows and David Letterman. Fran Drescher created The Nanny with then-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson. The exes later created the series, Happily Divorced, inspired by their real-world relationship.
