The Nanny

The Nanny

An American television sitcom about Fran Fine (Fran Drescher), a fashionista and cosmetics saleswoman from Flushing, who becomes the nanny for the three children of Maxwell Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy) after happening to knock on the door of their Upper East Side townhouse while trying to make a sale. The show was inspired by Drescher's life as a Jewish-American growing up in Queens, and had characters based on her real life family and friends. During its original run, the series was nominated for 12 Emmys, and won one.
